There are many, many stories we could share that serve as a testimony to our faith and how God makes himself evident to those we minister to daily.
Delmi and Jasmine are two young ladies who were having a difficult time finding work and a place to call home. Within a week of accepting Christ as their Savior, Delmi landed part-time work and Jasmine was able to get a full-time job as well as a place to live. If you had a chance to talk to them, you would see their faces shine as they explain the changes in their lives.
Occasionally a need will surface that we don’t have adequate funding for, so our client friends will often pool together to give something toward meeting that need. Here are two recent examples. A man had been using Elmer’s glue and leather plugs to try to contain the escaping air in a bad tire on his vehicle. A collection of $37 was received and a local garage replaced the tire, aligned and balanced it for no extra cost.
The second was a need for basic sound equipment so our musicians wouldn’t have to haul in their equipment from their trunk each week for the gospel music part of the Saturday service. Our friends really enjoy their music, but $200 was needed. $40 was given again from our client friends and the remaining funds came from other specified donations.
It humbles us to see these folks digging into their pockets, eager to give back however they can in response to others needs around them. It is true that God rules the hearts of men (and women), and we are encouraged daily by the response we see to His leading.
