This month we introduce you to our LAHIA president, Mike Dallak.  Mike lives in Hobe Sound with his wife Sue.  He has three daughters, Lori, Lisa and Leigh, who have blessed him with three grandsons, Jake, John and Auston.

Mike does landscape maintenance and runs the concession stand at a local ball field.

Mike spends his free time thinking of his family and their well-being, as well as how LAHIA can be more effective in helping our friends to see that Jesus is the only way out of their condition.  He states, “The more I ponder, the more I understand it’s all about Jesus!”

In Mike’s words, “The way LAHIA came into my life was that one day my brother-in-law Larry came and picked me up to show me the living conditions of our friends in the woods.  After I saw it with my own eyes, I knew I had to respond.  After a few days I called Larry and told him at least we could feed them and tell them that we love them and Jesus loves them too.  So we started to cook for them.  Its been 3 years and what a ride and blessing its been!  But it has only just begun!”

Mike envisions for LAHIA a fully functioning building open 24/7 where we can help people to restart their lives and be able to focus on rehab without worrying about a place to stay, food, a job, etc.  The pressure is too much.  We need to show the love of Jesus without judgment or expecting them to live up to our standards.  Remember Jesus told us not to look at the outside of a man, but to look at the heart of the man.  It’s the responsibility of the church body to be doers of the Word, not just hearers of the Word!

So we must find a way to attract our church friends to join us, and together we as a whole can do amazing things to further the Message of Christ.
